Phase Five is shaping up to be the unluckiest era of the MCU so far. At the start, Ant and the Wasp: Quantumania It was, therefore, a critical and financial disappointment MarvelEntire plans for the Multiverse Saga were threatened by the ongoing troubling drama of Jonathan Majors. Sure, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 went well but now we are back to bad luck as a total of three upcoming projects have been postponed at the same time apparently.

As you can probably guess, it’s all about the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Strike that’s wreaking havoc in Hollywood right now. Although early word suggested that filming was underway in secret, it was eventually confirmed that filming was taking place Thunderbolts it had to be delayed due to the strike, with Marvel letting the cast and crew know that it will finally work out once things are sorted out. This makes it the third MCU project to be affected by the strike, after that Blade and Wonder Man.

After years of behind the scenes problems, Blade Finally he looked to be getting somewhere, hiring a new writer one week before the WGA went on strike the Mahershala Ali vehicle had to be put back in its coffin. Meanwhile, Wonder Man – starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II – had begun filming but WGA protests ensured that shooting could not continue.

The biggest concern for Marvel fans is that we don’t know how long the strike will last – experts are predicting that it could continue throughout the summer, possibly ending with him in late August. If it were, this would create a major constraint on the studio’s production line. Fortunately, at least two other projects were far enough into the writing stage to proceed smoothly — namely, Captain America: New World Order and Deadpool 3both shooting at the moment.

As it is, then, delayed releases for both Thunderbolts (July 26, 2024) and Blade (September 6, 2024) seems plausible.
