New ‘Heart of Stone’ Trailer Proves Gal Gadot Doesn’t Need Wonder Woman

Following The Flash officially reestablishing the DC universe, it is currently unclear if Gal Gadot will be invited back as Wonder Woman in the future of the franchise. Although the Israeli actor made his impact on the action film genre in the A quick saga, long before she donned her Themysciran Tiara for the first time, Diana Prince is undoubtedly her most iconic role to date. And yet she may be about to add another one to her belt, if Netflix has anything to say about it.

At the TUDUM event on Saturday, the streamer unveiled a new blood pumping trailer for Heart of Stone, an action-packed spy thriller starring Gadot. The IS Justice League The star plays Rachel Stone, an international intelligence agent working for the Charter peacekeeping organization tasked with keeping a dangerous MacGuffin called “The Heart” out of enemy hands.

Netflix has made no secret that it hopes to start a new franchise here, hoping that Rachel Stone will be the female equivalent of the likes of James Bond, Ethan Hunt and Jason Bourne. Director Tom Harper is certainly confident that the character can go toe-to-toe with his more famous male counterparts, and from the awesome action seen in this trailer, he might be right about that.

Of course, a quarter of the internet tends to see female action stars as spawns of Satan, but with any luck Heart of Stone will avoid any sexist social media backlash or review bombardment when it starts streaming on August 11. If Netflix plays its cards right, Gal Gadot could have another chilling classic on its hands.
