Apple to upgrade iPhone 15 & 16 Series with Ultra-Wideband Chip for Vision Pro Integration
Apple recently held WWDC 2023 where the brand not only announced major software updates but also showed the biggest step forward – Apple Reality Vision Pro Headset. It is an AR/VR headset that aims to bring a new dimension to spatial computing. Now, with the new headset, the upcoming iPhone Series will also undergo some significant changes to ensure seamless integration.
iPhone 15 & 16 series to get Vision Pro Integration
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the Cupertino-based giant is working on modifying iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 Series to seamlessly integrate with Vision Pro Headset. To ensure this, Apple will bring hardware updates to its upcoming iPhone series.
Kuo said that Apple plans to bring WiFi 7 and Ultra-Wideband technology to its iPhone 15 and 16 models. This would help them work better with the new Vision Pro Headset. This is not surprising as Apple always focuses on connecting all its products seamlessly across different platforms, from iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, AirPods, watches, and more. This helps create an ios ecosystem that makes life more convenient.
iPhone 15 will come with an upgraded Ultra-broadband chip to provide a strong and seamless connection with Apple’s recently launched headset. The new iPhones will have an upgraded U1 chipset which would help bring upgrades to various existing features including AirDrop, Find My Phone, and more.
The main advantage of this U1 chip is its seamless integration with the Vision Pro headset. iPhone 16 will come with WiFi 7 for faster speeds and other benefits and will be essential for virtual and augmented reality experiences.
Speaking of both the 2023 and 2024 iPhone releases, Ming-Chi Kuo says, “Apple will aggressively upgrade hardware specifications to build a more competitive ecosystem for Vision Pro.”
More will be known as the iPhone 15 launch month gets closer.
