Royal fans have criticized King Charles for not allowing extended family members onto the balcony for major events as he aims to reduce the monarchy.

Some have claimed that the appearance of the Buckingham Palace balcony for this year’s Trooping the Color was “boring” as they lost the larger number of royals that used to be there, with the number dropping from more than 40 in 2019 for the Queen to just 14 this year.

Two members who were present even last year, but were missing this year, were Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, children of Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.

The teenagers were on the balcony for the RAF flyover after the King’s Coronation in May, but were nowhere to be seen at the Palace on Saturday.

Members of the Royal Family who are not working are usually no longer invited to attend, meaning that Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Mark Phillips and Zara Tindall, along with their respective families, will not be seen on the balcony until one far.
