Nintendo Direct time and leaks for June 2023: New 2D Mario, Mario Kart DLC, Chrono Trigger | Gaming | Entertainment

Nintendo has announced plans to hold a Direct conference later this week. The next Nintendo Direct conference will take place at 3pm BST UK on the evening of June 21. The massive 40-minute presentation will focus mainly on Nintendo Switch games launching later this year, including Pikmin 4 which has a release date July 21. Nintendo announced the news on Twitter, along with a hint about what to expect from the show.

“Tune in for a live stream featuring approximately 40 minutes of information focused primarily on Nintendo Switch titles at this year’s launch, including new details on Pikmin 4,” Nintendo’s statement reads.

Pikmin 4 introduces new gameplay features, including Oatchi, the Space Dog, who can break obstacles, carry heavy objects and carry Pikmin on his back.

In addition to Pikmin 4, Nintendo will likely reveal the next batch of courses coming to the booster Course Pass in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The Wave 5 booster Course Pass will add eight more tracks to the game, mostly from past Mario Kart 8 games.

It has also been suggested that a new 2D Super Mario Bros game will be revealed during the next Direct conference.

The new 2D Mario game will reportedly bring back Ranger Spike from the Wrecking Crew series and the recently released Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Other reports suggest that Nintendo will unveil a remake of Chrono Trigger for Nintendo Switch. Considered one of the best RPGs of all time, Chrono Trigger is a time-bending adventure where players must travel to the past, present and future.

Needless to say, fans will be expecting updates on Metroid Prime 4, Tears of the Kingdom DLC and maybe even Hollow Knight Silksong.
