In 2021, William spoke out about hearing that his beloved mother had died for the first time.
During a Scottish tour, William said: “In short, Scotland is the source of some of my happiest memories. But also my saddest.
“I was in Balmoral when I was informed that my mother had died. Still in shock, I found refuge in the service in Crathie Kirk that very morning.”
