Federle said EW in September 2022 that Nini is “definitely gone yet,” but hopefully not “gone forever.” In the early days of production for season four, the showrunner confirmed that there were “no formal discussions” about the singer-actress’ return to the show at that point, although the “door is always open.” He has not commented on the matter since.
