All ‘Big Brother US’ Players Who Have Returned After Being Evicted in the Same Season
Hundreds of houseguests competed Big Brothers US version since it debuted on CBS in 2000. And hundreds have felt the night of eviction, and their dreams of winning a life-changing sum of money are dwindling.
However, there are about a dozen contestants who got another lease on life during a season. Whether it was through spin, advantage, or the American vote, the house guests were given a second chance to end the night.
While none of their comebacks resulted in victory (which still hasn’t, anyway), these players had a chance to redefine their reality TV legacy — something most didn’t.
So who are they and how did they get back in? Let’s take a look.
Team Amy – Big brother 3
It was Amy Crews, oh Big Brothers third season in 2002. She was unanimously eliminated in week 3 due to her less than impressive social game.
However, the first four kidnappers had a chance to make a great comeback. They were all asked how much they would give up to return to the house. Amy said she would split the $500,000 grand prize and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the rest of the game, which was enough for her and Eric Ouellette to face the former houseguests. It was in the hands of the eight remaining players, and they voted to welcome Amy back into the house.
Amy finally improved her placement from third to fourth when she was evicted again on day 76.
Kaysar Ridha – Big brother 6
In what is perhaps the most famous Big brother return, Kaysar Ridha had a second chance to achieve “The Friendship” alliance with his companions “Sovereign Six” during season 6. Kaysar created the legendary six-man squad, but the de-facto leader of the alliance was evicted in week 3 .
It was later revealed that Kaysar and other eliminated houseguests had a chance to return. However, unlike season 3 when the house decided, America was the choice this time. Fans voted for who they wanted to bring back, and with 82% of the votes, Kaysar beat his rival Eric Littmann and stormed back into the house on day 47.
But, as in history, Kaysar was sent out the next eviction after he cut a deal with the other side of the house and was betrayed.
Sharon Obermueller – Big brother 9
Sharon Obermueller was one of the two contestants on Big Brother 9 who rejoined the team after being eliminated. Season 9 was an anomaly in a few ways. For starters, it’s the only mainline season not to air during the summer – it premiered two days before Valentine’s Day. Keeping with the theme, the players were divided into “soulmate” pairs at the start of the game. Well, Sharon was married to her ex-boyfriend, Jacob Heald, and the two ended up together on the 3rd day after Jacob thinned out their matches.
But, she returned to the house on day 7 after Neil Garcia quit. His colleague, Joshuah Welch, became partnerless and was given the option to choose between Sharon and Jacob to reform a duo. He chose Sharon, and she played until day 75 when she was evicted in fourth place.
James Zinkand – Big brother 9
James Zinkand, known as “Crazy James,” was voted out on the 35th Big brother 9 first eviction with individuals, not duos. But, his was short lived. He returned that night after the house opened the door for him instead of a secretly chosen house guest. Americans voted to give Alex Coladonato another shot at $500,000 after he was evicted along with fellow contestant Amanda Hansen earlier.
In a 5-3 vote, the house chose James in favor of bringing back an unknown player.
James then went on a run, winning three Power of Vetos in a row before being evicted again in week 8.
Brendan Villegas – Big brother 13
Brendan Villegas joined five others who were returning Big brother veterans and top rookies inside the house during season 13. He was eliminated on day 34, but won the public vote to face off against Lawon Exum, who famously asked to be evicted so he could play in the battle-back and superpower competition to win. Brendan lost it and returned to the game (no advantage) on day 41.
Unfortunately for the other half of “Brenchel,” he was sent out the door seven days later and joined the Jury as the first member.
Judd Daugherty – Big brother 15
Two seasons later, Judd Daugherty returned to the game in the first Jury member battle back in Big Brother USA history. “JU-Double D Party Darty” was unanimously evicted from us Big brother 15 years the first double eviction after the house agreed he was too much of a threat to keep around. However, he managed to make his way back to round out three more members of the Jury a few weeks later, and survived until the final five when he was eventually evicted again.
Nicole Franzel – Big brother 16
Although we saw Nicole Franzel win Big brother 18, her first attempt at winning the franchise was less successful. For the second time in a row, four members of the Jury had the chance to get revenge by making a big replay. So, after Nicole was taken out on the 56th day of running Big brother 16, she squared off with the other three in a competition called “Comeback Fight.” And when she won, she raised herself to a one-in-eight chance of winning $500,000.
But Nicole’s second spell ended when she was evicted again on day 77 in seventh place.
Johnny Mac – big brother 1 free,7
John McGuire, better known as Johnny Mac, had quite the season throughout Big brother 17. The fine dentist sat on the block a total of nine times and was evicted twice. He was voted out first during week 9 when he sat next to the winner of the season, Steve Moses. Johnny Mac brought his game back to life that night, however, when he beat three other judges in an endurance competition that accompanied week 10’s Head of Household challenge.
He moved back into the house like he never left, and stayed there until he was evicted again on day 91 — placing fourth overall.
Victor Arroyo – Big brother 18
Talk about redefining Big brother legacies; Victor Arroyo would be remembered much differently if his game ended on his first ejection. He was third out in Big brother 18but after defeating three other evictees in a head-to-head challenge, Victor returned on day 37. Then, after achieving a few competitive victories, Victor was evicted again on day 72. But, in a series at first, Victor was victorious. a second chance to nullify his eviction — and he defeated the other members of the Jury who were dismissed the same night.
Victor’s luck finally ran out on day 90 when his third eviction was enough to keep him out of the house. He came fifth.
Cody Nickson – Big brother 19
Big brother 19 introduced a new way for an evicted contestant to return. Cody Nickson, as memorable of a character as they come, left the game first as the third out. But, he went back into the backyard after eliminating three other kidnappers’ matches through battle challenges.
Paul Abrahamian was voted unanimously by the remaining contestants as the representative of the house ready to destroy Cody’s comeback. Both men had a table maze and Cody defeated his archnemesis. His win was enough to keep him around for a few more weeks with his future wife, Jessica Graf, before they were evicted back-to-back. Cody was its first member Big Brother 19 Jury.
Scottie Salton – Big brother 20
Scottie Salton had the pleasure of being the house guest Big brother 20 who got two shots at a six-figure payday. During the war between the “Level Six” and “FOUTTE” alliances, Scottie fell on day 65. But, he found himself back in the residence a week later after defeating three other jurors on the day 72. Scottie didn’t do much with his fresh start, though.
He was evicted again a week later on day 79 and rejoined the Jury in eighth place.
Hogg’s Cliff – Big brother 21
Cliff Hogg returned to the game with a special twist during us Big brother 21. “Comeback Camp” was introduced at the beginning of the season, and after four players made it through elimination, they competed in a loser’s bracket challenge. Despite being more than 20 years older than the other three, Cliff went on to send them home and return to the game as a full-fledged houseguest. And in doing so, he improved his placing from fourth to fourth overall.
Jag Bains – Big brother 25
Like Big brother 9, Big brother 25 rolled out the red carpet for two evicted houseguests. The first player was Jag Bains, who never left the house. He was voted out on day 30. But, after host Julie Chen Moonves told Jag he was evicted, she revealed that he was secretly playing with superpowers. Matt Klotz’s “Power of Invincibility” nullified Jag’s eviction.
As of this writing, Jag is still in the running for a 25th season win. With only five players left, will Jag become the first contender to win in the same season they were evicted?
Cameron Hardin – Big brother 25
Cameron Hardin, the Family Leader charged with Jag’s eviction, is the latest player to get a second chance at Big brother. It was taken out at first Big Brother 25 years the first double eviction in week 7. But, in a new twist, he and Jared Fields (the other houseguest that night) returned to the house as zombies. They lived in the house for a week, and after several competitions played between them, Cameron gave up his game and Jared went home.
Cameron won next week’s Head of Family and Power of Veto, but joined the jury as its first member in week 10.
