Katurah Topps Addresses Feud With Bruce Perreault on ‘Survivor 45’ in a Now-Deleted TikTok Video
If you are keeping up with Survivor 45, it’s no wonder Katurah Topps can’t stand her fellow Belo-turned-Lulu, Bruce Perreault. After all, the majority of her screen time consists of her complaining about it.
With the “New Era” of it Survivor often criticized for the lack of drama and conflicts between the contestants — often referred to as Cumbaya Survivor – viewers have loved the beef between Katurah and Bruce throughout this season so far.
even though Survivor fans have been entertained by the conflict between Katurah and Bruce, the civil rights attorney is not lost…
In a now-deleted TikTok video – which you can watch Reddit — Katurah will address “the elephant in the room,” admitting that as much of her screen time is dedicated to seeing her complain about her colleagues.
“Every week I’m watching a new episode like, ‘Damn! I’m still talking about Bruce. Devil! They still got me talking about Bruce. Devil! I’m still in the confessional talking about Bruce.’ Like, what’s happening, because I know me and of course I know I would only be talking about Bruce. That’s definitely not what’s happening,” Katurah shared in that TikTok video, expressing her confusion.
She then put an end to the rumours, explaining that she never had a problem with annoying colleagues. In Katurah’s eyes, it was a good thing for someone to attract a lot of attention and upset a lot of people, because there was a high probability that the tribe would agree to vote out — meaning she would live another day to see. on the beach.
Instead, the issue was that Katurah felt disrespected by Bruce and his actions.
“I was literally talked down to and barked at and yelled at and ordered and confronted as a child, over and over again, and that’s so scary to me,” she said. “This is happening specifically to me to a degree that’s different than anyone else. Likewise, this is clearly an intensity specific to Katurah, because there is a level of rudeness and aggressiveness and harshness towards me specifically that is not seen with literally anyone else.”
To follow up this bold statement, the 35-year-old explained why her crush on Bruce was much higher during this time. Survivor tour, making its way onto our TV screens every Wednesday evening.
“That feeling of being commented on, it increases when you don’t feel like there’s anyone around you that you can just be like ‘You see this happening too, right?’ It’s like there’s no one who could see it or notice it or even honestly admit it’s happening, because if I’m going to be honest, that’s why episode 5 was so hard me,” she explained passionately.
Within episode 5, Bruce is seen talking down to Katurah, often thinking her ideas are “dumb” and “stupid”. Also within that episode, Survivor Fans don’t see any of Lulu’s other tribesmen — Jake O’Kane, Kaleb Gebrewold, and Kellie Nalbandian — standing up for her, which makes the New York native feel very special.
“This was the first episode where I had to quit,” Katurah revealed. “I had to take a few days and do emotional control. It reminded me of being there and having that feeling of being like, ‘I’ve been acting on this behavior for 10 days now,’ and episode 5 is showing day 10.”
After explaining Bruce’s power over the Lulu tribe — describing how his control over the rest of his fellow tribesmen was “literally terrifying” — the Survivor 45 castaway ended her TikTok video with a sweeping statement.
“Basically, I say that, I think I understood why we have so many Katurah-Bruce confessionals, and that is because my confessions were a safe space. Everywhere else, I like to smile and be like, ‘Yeah, everything’s great. Yay.’ I would go to my confessionals and be like, ‘I can finally release everything. I can be honest and say what I’m feeling and what’s happening,’” she spilled.
She concluded, “I think I’ve used it a little more as a release space than I realized… that’s what happens when your confidants are the only space for you to be open and honest about what’s going on actually happen. Your confession will be spicy.” With the abuse Katurah had to face Bruce for 10 days straight, we don’t blame her!
