Michael Buble wears an Asda team badge to be the face of the supermarket’s Christmas adverts. The Canadian crooner hits TV screens on Friday with a sneak peak during Good Morning Britain at 9.40am today.

The teaser sees Asda staff in a disturbed break room, chirping as the clock ticks to midnight.

Passing through a festive warehouse, below, to find the source of the sound, they reach a door marked “MB inside. Do not open until 1.11.23.”

It opens to reveal a silhouette of the platinum-selling superstar who turns to the camera and breaks into his beat.

Michael – who duetted with actress and singer Barbra Streisand on It Had To Be You in 2014 – is making his debut as the supermarket’s latest seasonal recruit.

David Hills, Asda’s chief customer officer, said: “We absolutely love Christmas and this year we’re back on a mission to bring that warm, festive feeling to families.”

He said Michael, 48, “has an undeniable ability to spread a seasonal smile”. Meanwhile, one in five adults already have a cupboard full of festive food, having stocked up.

Chocolate, wine, pudding and filling are the items most often put away. Aldi’s poll also found that 35% of the 2,000 adults asked aim to reduce their festive spending this year.
