A deal between actors and Hollywood studios includes increased wages, protection against artificial intelligence, and solidarity coordinators on set.
Actors’ union Sag-Aftra has been engaged in a “very serious fight” against executives over safeguards against the threat of artificial intelligence (AI). He saw actors walk out for a total of 118 days.
Industrial action ended on Thursday when 86% of the union’s national board voted to approve a provisional agreement with the Alliance of Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
“We have a record contract on our hands,” Sag-Aftra president Fran Drescher said at a press conference in Los Angeles.
