Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor has revealed that this year’s cohort of celebrities have it “easier” on the show.
The 43-year-old dancer, who danced on the show for three seasons, spoke in a new interview and opened up about his experience on the BBC competition.
When asked about the 2023 contestants, Robin criticized that they had it “easier” when it came to taking part in the show.
“The hours are incredibly long and I think it’s a bit easier now – not that they would agree,” he said. Ways.
“All the professional numbers are now filmed and rehearsed in August, so it’s done before the show starts.”
He continued: “They have longer with their celebrities every week, but when I was dancing, we would have to do the professional number on a Monday morning until midday in Elstree.
“Then you’d have to go where your celebrity lived because they didn’t come to us.
“My last partner was Deborah Meaden, so I had to travel to Somerset.”
Robin added that when celebrities and professionals fall off the show, it’s because of “big egos”.
“It’s about personality and ego clashes,” he said.
“Some celebrities and professionals have pretty big egos, so if there are two big egos, they’re going to fight.
“That can make life very difficult. Everyone should experience it at its best.”
Robin was forced to leave Strictly not by choice, but because of a back operation and then was never asked back on the show.
