Australia thus completed their series bid with seven wins on the trot. They finished third due to a lower net run rate compared to South Africa despite having the same number of points (14) as the Proteas.

In reply, Marsh hit 17 fours and nine sixes to end the game in 44.4 overs. He added 120 for the second wicket with David Warner (53) and 175 for the third wicket without a break with Steve Smith (63 not out).
