The Multiverse Saga Implodes Just as ‘The Marvels’ Opens to $3 Million Less Than ‘Eternals’

Hand on heart, especially Marvel fans were thoroughly entertained by The Marvelswarts and all (the film’s rings, not mine), but sadly the filmmaking community at large doesn’t seem to agree, as the box office’s prescient predictions about its financial performance are evidently accurate.

As if that wasn’t bad enough for the additional adventures of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel’s upcoming slate is taking another tumble causing more tears, although it could be a good thing…

The Marvels Thursday’s box office earns less than ‘Eternals,’ all told

The Marvels It had one of the weakest opening weekends of any Marvel movie, so seeing it play out isn’t surprising, but it still hurts. Thursday’s preview figures are in, and it took home a slim $6.5 million. For comparison, DC recently flopped The Flash grossed $9.7 million for its own previews. Similarly, the MCU itself is infamously bad Eternal he earned three thousand more in total with $9.5 million back in Fall 2021. Basically, get to grips with some hard numbers for the weekend come Monday.

The MCU release date leaves Marvel with one movie coming in 2024

Something else we knew was coming but still hits hard? Following the end of the strikes, Marvel has officially updated their slate, dropping a number of different upcoming releases. Captain America 4 the worst blow, moving from July 2024 to February 2025, with Thunderbolts transfer the same from December 2024 to July 2025. This means that Deadpool 3 it stands alone as the only Marvel Studios film to come out in its calendar year. This is the first time this has happened since 2020 Black Widow. It sounds terrible on paper, but this might be exactly what the MCU needs to get audiences invested again. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?

Loki is literally upending the entire Marvel universe on his own season 2 finale

You know what we did not expect that? The IS Loki season 2 finale to be this good. Suffice it to say, the episode went and confirmed that Tom Hiddleston’s trickster is the most important character in the entire MCU and that the safety of the multifaceted and the continuation of the timeline is on his back. I mean, we knew a lot anyway, but now it’s canon. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like season 3 is on, at least not anytime soon, so we may have to wait until Avengers 5 and 6 to see him again, if we ever do. However, Marvel fans have always treated the God of Mischief as a real deity – and now, at least, he officially is.
