Who Is the Leader of the Young Avengers?

Folks, it’s finally happening.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Marvels.

For years, fans of Young Avengers to be clamoring for any sign — other than gradually introducing its members — that the team was about to join the MCU. We thought we’d get it in Hawk. Then we thought maybe it would come under Ms. Marvel or Quantummania. All of the releases did featuring at least one member of the young Avengers – as did several others – but none of them laid down concrete hints that the team would ever be assembled.

Until now. The last moments of it The Marvels finally gave us what we have been waiting for, with the clear introduction of the Young Avengers. Or maybe the champions, but that’s beside the point. Whatever it’s called, a team of young superheroes is about to join the MCU, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them. The way their formation began is certainly a touch different from the version in the Marvel comics, and it leads to an ever-present question: Who is usually the leader of the Young Avengers, and will they remain in charge? in the MCU’s consideration of the team. ?

Marvel fans have seen almost every original member of the Young Avengers over the years. Teddy is the only one missing, for now, and Skaar might replace him anyway. As it stands, the Young Avengers clearly make the most sense as the MCU’s official super team.

That said, it’s far from the only young Marvel team. There’s plenty to choose from, spanning decades of Marvel history – some of which have already had spin-offs of their own – but the only other real contender for the MCU is the Champions, a team that just happens to be led by Kamala alone. Khan.

However, it’s the Young Avengers – an original team consisting of Kate Bishop, Eli Bradley, Tommy and Billy Maximoff, Cassie Lang, Teddy Altman, and Iron Lad – that make the most sense for the MCU. The franchise has been struggling for years, and it looks like they are paying off.

In the comics canon, Iron Lad is the original leader of the Young Avengers, a variant of Kang who travels back in time in hopes of changing his blood-soaked future. If the MCU were to maintain this storyline, there could be some very interesting possibilities for future Kang stories, especially for Jonathan Majors.

Even if the MCU goes in a different direction, though, there are plenty of options. After Iron Lad’s departure, Kate and Eli lead the Young Avengers. They struggle in their leadership positions at first, but in the end the two make a great team. Other members of the squad have taken leadership positions over the years, but back when it started Kate and Eli helped lead the team to proper superheroes.

The MCU and Marvel comics are not the same thing, which often leaves huge gaps between the original comics and their live-action counterparts. Kamala has a different power set, some characters have different backgrounds, which ultimately means we can’t expect a carbon copy of the comics we know and love. I hope the MCU uses them as inspiration to do something another We love

Which eventually causes the leadership of the Young Avengers. As do the final moments of it The Marvels, which saw Kamala Khan take on Kate Bishop about creating her own team of superheroes. This is already a huge departure from the comics, which saw Iron Lad as a team, and it seems to put Kamala in a leadership role. However, given her youth, especially compared to Kate, I would still argue that Kate will eventually become the leader of the Young Avengers.

That all depends on what happens next, though. We still don’t know who the rest of the cast will be, but it feels safe to assume that at least Kamala, Kate, America Chavez, the Maximoff twins, Cassie Lang, and Eli Bradley will eventually join. There are a few obstacles to overcome before the Maximoff twins can get together, and let’s not even get into the whole Loki situation, but the team will definitely be accepted in the end. How it will all play out is still a mystery, as is almost everything else. Will the cast make their Disney Plus series debut? In a movie? As a side note in another major MCU release? We have no idea yet, but with official confirmation, theories are running rampant.
