Diwali 2023: How should investors invest to create wealth for a bright future?

The auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, is a great time for gold investors, buying property investment or investing in other things. The celebration of the five-day festival of Diwali began today, November 10, with Dhanteras. The festival will be followed by Chhoti Diwali on November 11, Diwali, the main festival, on November 12, Govardhan Puja on November 13, and Bhai Dooj on November 14.

So let’s find out how you can significantly advance your financial objectives this Diwali season and what your ideal investment plan should be.

According to personal finance experts, investors should focus on consistency of performance and risk-adjusted results rather than just the top performers. Proper asset allocation, diversification, and periodic rebalancing are important. It is recommended to invest in equity funds over a long period.

“Generally, investors follow the historical performance of a fund when considering an investment in any fund. It should be filtered out as it does not help to see the performance in isolation. In the years to come, last year’s top performers may or may not yield good results. Investors should consider consistency of performance, rather than outperformance. In addition, there is a need to consider risk-adjusted returns rather than just performance,” said Mukesh Kochar, National Head of Wealth at AUM Capital.

If funds are to be identified along with the market trend, values like Standard Deviations, Sort Ratio, Sharpe and Beta, etc. should be used. to use, he said.

Appropriate asset allocation, with appropriate diversification and periodic rebalancing of the portfolio, must be maintained at all times.

Kochar says that it is important to invest in equity funds over a long period and there should not be much focus on 1-year returns from muhurat to muhurat. The main thing is to avoid short-term volatility, you need to start building your portfolio early and invest regularly for a longer period.

Nifty 50 at 26,000 till 2025 Diwali

Vaibhav Kaushik, Research Analyst, GCL Broking, believes that by Diwali 2025, the Nifty 50 index could go up to 24,000 levels,

“As we can see, nifty has given less than 5% return in last 2 years. If we see the PE ratio of 1 year forward earnings Nifty is trading near 18 levels which is on the lower side so from here in next 2 years Nifty can return up to 35% from these levels. Our target is 26,000 till 2025 Diwali,” said Kaushik. Sumeet Bagadia, Executive Director at Choice Broking, believes the Nifty 50 index could go up to 24,000 level by Diwali 2024.
