Brave Friends star Mathew Perry has left behing an impactful legacy | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV
Playwright Sean Daniels, who runs the Recovery Project for long-term addicts in Sarasota, Florida, said: “More people will
get help because of his bravery. Fewer people will die. “
Perry struggled with alcohol and drugs throughout his life and his sudden death on October 28 at the age of 54 shocked his fans.
The star’s cause of death is said to be “inconclusive” but further toxicology tests are being carried out after the initial post-mortem examination showed no signs of crystalline or lethal meta-opioid fentanyl in his system.
According to the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office, the tests could take as long as “three to four months” to complete, but Daniels says the result will make no difference to Perry’s legacy.
He said: “It changed the conversation about addiction in our country. “I hope the toxicology results for Perry, whatever they are, will give his family some answers.
“But the rest of us need to know that the world is better off, and that there are still more people living in it, because he was here.”
