Eamonn Holmes is marking the anniversary of his mother’s death with emotion.

The GB News star took to Instagram on Saturday where he shared a sweet picture of the duo together.

Eamonn said: “She’s gone a year today. She looks so sick in this picture.

“The time was there. But there was such a presence that I still feel her around me every day. Good for you, Mom x.” (sic)

Eamonn, who is married to Ruth Langsford, was inundated with messages of support from his fans and colleagues.

Carol Vorderman replied: “Sending you lots of love Eamonn. These markers in the sand can be so difficult.”

While Lizzie Cundy typed: “Awww sending you massive love. Mum will be by your side forever.. great pic.”

One of Eamonn’s fans went on to say: “Some woman for one woman. Love you Eamonn, out to mum this morning with the kids and always think of Josie when I’m driving before xx.” (sic)

In March 2023, Eamonn marked his first Mother’s Day without his mother Josie, describing it as “heartbreaking”.

In his column, he said: “Today I face the day I never wanted to face.

“It’s Mother’s Day, and for the first time in my life, I don’t have a mother. Well, she’s not a living mother.

“My mother passed away after a long illness last November but, in my heart, she will never really be gone. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear her voice.”

Eamonn described his mother as “special” and said not being able to attend her funeral was the “biggest sadness in his life”.

The presenter was unable to travel back to Belfast due to back surgery and a fall that broke his shoulder.

He added: “It broke my heart. But technology allowed me to give eulogy at her Requiem Mass.”
