I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! It looks like star Marvin Humes is breaking the mutual marriage rule to be on the show.

In an interview that emerged, the singer’s wife Rochelle Humes, 34, revealed that they had made a commitment not to spend more than a few days apart after becoming parents for the first time in 2013.

The couple met through the showbiz circuit when she was a member of The Saturdays and he was touring with JLS.

During their first few years together, Rochelle admitted they were used to spending time apart with their respective singing careers, until the birth of their first daughter Alaia, who is now 10 years old.

From that moment on, the This Morning presenter said they had vowed to keep the posts a few days apart instead of weeks.

She told The sun: “We spent the first few years constantly separated from each other, because we were both working. Marvin may have been in London and I was in America and vice versa.

“That’s what we knew, and when you’re young, carefree and have no responsibilities it’s completely different.

“But as soon as Alaia was born, we made a commitment and said that wouldn’t happen. Now there are no weeks apart – we set a maximum of a few days if necessary.”

Rochelle later said they said “the deal will work” even if it meant driving home early.

Seven years later, it seems the two have made an exception for their time in the jungle.

The 38-year-old singer is currently in Australia waiting to compete on the show alongside nine other brave celebrities.

Before his signing was confirmed, Rochelle was asked about his possible involvement during a segment on This Morning.

The presenter joked: “Oh I know that man well” and added: “Looks like I’ll be running the school there.”

She added that Marvin was too busy for the show and JLS were still on tour at the time, but the band completed their 2023 dates that weekend.

Speaking about his wife’s reaction to him signing, he said: “When I first told Rochelle, she thought I was playing a trick on her.

Taking to his Instagram Story afterwards, he admitted that saying goodbye to his wife and children was “so hard”.

On her page, Rochelle insisted that she was excited to see him on the show, but also left sick emojis on his post when there was no contact.

Recalling how the conversation between them went, she spilled: “Marvin said, ‘Babe, how do you feel about me finishing the tour and then going?’

“So he’s literally had one day at home and then he’s just gone to Oz so it’s crazy, crazy, it’s going to be a whirlwind.

“But I’m so excited for it and I can’t wait to watch it. I have something to watch every night at 9 now, it’s great.”
