Kangana reunites with Madhavan for new film; Rajinikanth visits set on day 1
Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan brought the blockbuster franchise, Tanu Weds Manu, to Indian cinema. Fans were waiting for them to reunite for another project and the desire came true. Kangana and Madhavan will be sharing the screen space in an upcoming psychological thriller. The yet-to-be-titled film went on floors today in Chennai. The film reunites Kangana with her Thalaivii director Vijay.
Announcing the film on X, Kangana wrote, “Today in Chennai, we started shooting our new film, a psychological thriller. More details coming soon. Till now, we need all your support and blessings for the very unusual script and exciting.”

She shared a picture with Vijay and wrote, “Dear Vijay sir after the incredible experience of Thalaivii happy to bask in your glory again love to be your team and take your orders. Thank you Sir.”
The muhurat the film was graced by Rajinikanth who paid a surprise visit to the set. The production house shared pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Grateful and honored to receive the blessings of SUPERSTAR RAJINIKANTH as we start our new project with @tridentartsoffl, which reunites Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan after 8 years! Presented by Trident Arts, in its 18th production and produced by R. Ravindran, the music for the film is composed by the talented GV Prakash Kumar. Nirav Shah serves as the Director of Photography (DOP). The psychological thriller will be a bilingual release in Hindi and Tamil.
On work, Kangana was last seen in Tejas. She played a titular role as an Air Force pilot who shows grit and courage while dealing with life-threatening situations. The film failed to work at the box office and opened to negative reviews. She entered regional cinema with Raghava Lawrence’s Chandramukhi 2. The horror comedy sequel was a complete wash in the Tamil market with no trace in the Hindi zone. Kangana is returning as a director with Emergency, which has been pushed to 2024.
R Madhavan Rocket: The Nambi Effect was awarded a National Film Award. He acted and produced the film while directing the Nambi Narayanan biopic.
