AMES, Iowa – Quinn Ewers threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and drew No. 7 Texas outlasted Iowa State for a 26-16 win on Saturday night.
The win keeps the Longhorns (10-1, 7-1) alone atop the Big 12 standings and moves them closer to the conference championship game.
Ewers completed 23 of 33 passes and CJ Baxter threw for 117 yards, helping Texas extend its winning streak to five after an Oct. 7 loss to Oklahoma.
Rocco Becht threw for 323 yards and two touchdowns for Iowa State (6-5, 5-3), but the Cyclones had just 9 yards rushing and averaged less than half a yard per carry.
NO. 14 OKLAHOMA 31, BYU 24: Oklahoma forced three turnovers and scored 21 points off the bench to edge BYU in Provo, despite playing the second half without quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
