Andrea Bocelli releases music video for new song Festa from John Lewis Xmas ad | Music | Entertainment
Andrea Bocelli has had a very busy start to the Christmas season.
Not only has he released the deluxe edition of his album A Family Christmas with son and daughter Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli, but also a new seasonal song.
This year’s John Lewis Christmas advert features the Italian tenor singing the rock opera single Festa, which means “celebrate”.
The song highlights “the joy of Christmas traditions both old and new” and “not only carries the joy and emotional power of advertising, but adds a twist to traditional Christmas music.”
And now Festa’s official music video has been launched with behind-the-scenes action of the original recording including an appearance by Andrea’s wife Veronica.
Bocelli said of Festa in John Lewis’s Christmas advert about the cruel trap of Venus becoming a Christmas tree: “I’m delighted to take part in this wonderful and unique tradition of Christmas storytelling. It is very special to me because of the wonderful support this will bring to both the John Lewis and Andrea Bocelli foundations. Good luck with all your life this Christmas!”
Decca Records will donate 10p for every Festa track download in the UK from today until 30 April 2024 to be shared between children’s charities including The Andrea Bocelli Foundation, John Lewis Building Happier Futures Charity Partners – Action for Children, Home -Start UK and Who Cares? Scotland.
