Danny Cipriani has shared a cryptic quote following his split from wife Victoria Rose as he pulled out of this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

The 36-year-old took to his Instagram stories to post a sentimental quote for his 221,000 followers to see.

The quote reads: “I’ve always known one thing, even when buried in the rubble of my mind: it’s better to follow your heart and be true to yourself than to play by other people’s rules.

“Maybe not everyone will accept you, but the rewards, when they finally come, will be much sweeter than any trophy.”

According to the Daily Mail last week, Danny is understood to have signed on to star on I’m A Celebrity before pulling out following his split with Victoria, 42.

The publication reported that the sports star was set to earn a six-figure sum for her time in Australia.

In August, a source told them: “He will be a cornerstone of the team and already there is talk of him and scenes of showering among the team working on the program.

“He is also expected to reveal secrets from his showbiz lifestyle. He has been linked to many women over the years, and his scandals are also well documented so there will be plenty for him to share.”

His and Victoria’s marriage reportedly ended due to revelations in Danny’s recent autobiography.

Express.co.uk contacted ITV, but a source said the rumors about Danny appearing on the series were not real.

Although we won’t see Danny take a stormy shower, after the audience was confirmed on Monday, it looks like the audience is in for a treat.

Celebrities taking part in this series are controversial former politician Nigel Farage, JLS singer Marvin Humes and This Morning star Josie Gibson.

Food critic Grace Dent, influencer Nella Rose and soap stars Nick Pickard and Danielle Harold are also hoping to avoid the dreaded bustle trials.

Giving a classy farewell are Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, First Dates’ Fred Sirieix and Britney Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn-Spears.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! broadcast on 19 November at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
