Novak Djokovic destroyed ruthless home favorite Jannik Sinner to win the ATP Finals title for the seventh time ever — adding another milestone to his incredible career.

The 36-year-old Serbian lost to the home favorite earlier in the week in the group, but managed to gain revenge with a sublime display to claim a 6-3 6-3 victory.

A sell-out crowd at Turin’s Pala Alpitour hoped to lure the 22-year-old Sinner to the biggest title of his career but it was just Djokovic in another league.

The world number one dropped just two points on the advantage in the opening set and when he broke Sinner’s serve in the fourth game it was mostly one-way traffic.

At one point Djokovic won 14 points in a row against a player ranked fourth in the world before Sinner briefly delayed the march of the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Sinner avoided a double break of the fore as Djokovic surprisingly failed to pass a shot and Sinner then had break points in the sixth game but was unable to convert either.

Djokovic also failed to convert break points that would have given him a 5-2 lead after several errors entered his game.

The crowd did their best to energize their men but Djokovic moved on to victory and a double fault on Shinner ended the contest. Djokovic moves past Roger Federer to become the most successful player in the tournament’s history.

His win caps off a year in which he won three of the four Grand Slam titles and regained the world number one spot from Carlos Alcaraz and there is concern that he will head into 2024 looking as dominant as his ever was.
