Self-confessed workaholic Simon Cowell has revealed his tips for success in work and family life.

The 63-year-old, who is behind The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol, has had a long career in the music industry dating back to the 1980s.

Reflecting on his work habits now and how he has been successful, Simon said he only works four days a week and detailed his four secrets.

He explained to The US Sun: “Don’t work on Friday, because you don’t have to.

“Eat dinner at five o’clock. Do not take calls after 5.30.

“Don’t read emails after 5.30. Watch a happy movie. And stay out.”

He said that working on Fridays was “very important” and admitted that becoming a father was the reason for his change of heart.

Simon and his wife Lauren Silverman welcomed their son Eric back in 2014 and went on to get engaged in 2022.

Although Simon sticks to his four-day week, he warned those behind him to be “absolutely focused”.

He explained that when you were with your children you had to focus on them, otherwise they would know you were “faking”.

Simon suggested that working parents should just immerse themselves and spend time with their children.

Adding: “And you just had to go there, you know? And it’s worth it.”

The interview comes ahead of the new series of Simon’s America’s Got Talent Fantasy League, which will premiere on January 1, 2024.

The new series will see some of AGT’s most beloved acts come back and go up against each other, People reported.

Simon will be returning to the panel, along with veteran judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B.

Terry Crews will be on hosting duties and the judges will pick their favorite acts from a roster of 10 – like fantasy football.

In addition to competing episodes, the judges will not only be training their teams but also hoping to win the title of AGT: Champion League Fantasy.

Earlier this year, legendary AGT actor John Hetlinger died and fans mourned.

The latest series of AGT saw Simon drown as Mel B returned to the show, and was forced to apologize when Howie pushed a buzzer he didn’t have.

America’s Got Talent Fantasy League will air on NBC on January 1st
