Ant and Dec poked fun at Jamie Lynn Spears, who is known as Britney Spears’ younger sister, when they pointed out that she is less famous than the pair’s brother, Bryan Spears.

The former Nickelodeon actress explained to UK viewers, who may not know the Louisiana-born star, that she is also a country singer before heading into the jungle.

The 32-year-old briefly touched on her family life with her father Jamie Spears, her mother Lynne and her popular older sister but made it clear that she has a full career in her own right.

However, some viewers have since claimed that Jamie Lynn has made a rule not to mention her famous sister.

Speaking on Monday night’s programme, Sean and Dec, both 47, couldn’t resist taking a cheeky dig at the jungle contestant.

“Jamie Lynn Spears, actress and singer,” said Dec. “But perhaps one of the most famous siblings in the world is best known.”

Ant interrupted: “Bryan Spears,” to which the backstage crew laughed.

He continued: “I can’t believe we have ‘The’ Bryan Spears sister on the show. Remember guys, Jamie Lynn is her own person. Not just Bryan Spears’ sister… okay.”

Social media users took to X, formerly Twitter, and responded to the duo’s cheeky post in attendance, all saying the same thing.

One said: “Ant & Dec mocking Jamie Lynn’s apparent ‘don’t mention Britney’ rule at the highest level.”

Another wrote: “Ant & Dec’s current fad referring to the clear clause in Jamie Lynn’s contract that says DON’T TELL BRITNEY SPEARS I will be wearing all abilities. When she comes out and sees this on every episode ???”

A third quipped: “The name of Jamie Lynn Spears’ sister … ‘Brian spears’.” (sic)

“The British sense of humor is top notch,” said another.

And a fifth person said: “I wonder how many people learned about existence directly from Bryan from reading this LMAO.” (sic)

Bryan is the older brother of Jamie Lynn and Britney, and in the memory of the latter Woman In Me the singer recalls being close to him until he started working for the Toxic hitman.

Years after Britney became famous, in 2003, Bryan became part of Britney’s management team.

She has been less vocal about their relationship since he became involved in her curatorship, which has since ended.

Jamie Lynn has since spoken to her older sister while speaking to First Dates’ Fred Sirieix who wanted to learn more about his co-star’s upbringing and asked her while lying in her hammock.

He asked: “So where do you live?”

Jamie Lynn replied: “I live in the country. We have like 180 acres.”

Diving right into the question everyone was asking, Fred replied: “Wow, like a ranch? Your sister is obviously a superstar, you are a superstar, why? How did you two come, what did he do?”

Jamie Lynn replied: “I think every family fights and has their things but I spoke to her before I came here and we love each other.”
