Is Bradley Cooper Gay?

Look, if you’re a famous male actor in Hollywood, then at one point or another in your career, there will be speculation about whether you’re gay. Which is fine, and shouldn’t be a big deal at all, but here we are. Rumors of homosexuality have plagued actors as Tom Cruise for years. Now they are plaguing another actor: Bradley Cooper.

Being gay in Hollywood is a big deal in this day and age, and if anything it’s possible help a person’s occupation. This is not the golden age Hollywoodback when superstar and actor Rock Hudson had to hide his true identity (he died of AIDS in the ’80s).

The Cooper rumors are not new. He has even commented on them over the years, and the evidence is in no way covered up. But, rumors are rumors and as long as handsome men appear in movies, some people are going to call them gay.

Why do people think Bradley Cooper is gay?

There are two strong arguments towards Cooper being gay, but they are circumstantial at best. The first begins with Cooper’s longtime friendship with fellow actor Victor Garber.

Garber is openly gay, and has been for most of his public life as an actor. The two are friends and have been for years, so when Cooper started getting famous and was seen out with Garber, the rumors started to fly. This is called “gay by association” and it happens all the time when two men become friends and one becomes gay.

When asked about the issue in 2009, Cooper said he thought the rumors were “fantastic” and “fantastic.”

“I think it’s great,” Cooper said. “Victor Garber is one of my best friends, and I’ll never forget when we went to an event together and people thought we were dating. It was all over the Internet. This was the first time I read a rumor like that about me, and I thought it was amazing. But if you believe those rumours, every man in Hollywood is gay.”

Then there’s the matter of kissing on Cooper’s upcoming film set Maestro, which describes the life of composer Leonard Bernstein. Cooper, who plays Bernstein, went viral for a kiss he shared with co-star Matt Bomer, who is presumably his love interest.

Bernstein was married but many of his friends were describe it as “married a gay man.” What else puts things into the “not gay” category? Cooper’s chat history. Over the years, it has linked to various actorsand he was even married to Jennifer Esposito for a short period of time.

Other notable relationships include Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Lopez, Zoe Saldaña, Suki Waterhouse and George Clooney’s current wife, Huma Abedin. Could Cooper be attracted to men too? It has not been proven in any way, but if so, so what?
